Wheel of Fortuyn...

Via Drudge - The above title is somewhat related to Pat Sajak's column  on the murder of Theo van Gogh (I just couldn't help myself).

Pat hits the nail on why Hollywood has been suicidally silent -

There’s another possibility; one that seems crazy on the surface, but does provide an explanation for the silence, and is also in keeping with the political climate in Hollywood. Is it just possible that there are those who are reluctant to criticize an act of terror because that might somehow align them with President Bush, who stubbornly clings to the notion that these are evil people who need to be defeated? Could the level of hatred for this President be so great that some people are against anything he is for, and for anything he is against?

He gets a dig into Michael Moore, too.

A Vet Gets Spit on Again...

Steve Gardner, the only vet to serve on John Kerry's swift boat in Vietnam, was fired from his job for speaking truth to power.

Power Line , has info on how to contact Mr. Gardner, to offer assistance. I've a feeling he'll be working soon and enjoying his retirement down the line. What a great guy.

UPDATE - New link above has corrected contact info.

A Republican Formula for Winning Elections...

Just have moronic federal judges overstep their constitutional bounds. The US military can no longer recruit on college campuses because "they discriminate against gays". The "reasonable man" standard (I'm not a lawyer and I can have any standard I want), would assume that there is no unreasonable burden placed on the schools to host recruiters. In addition, as Americans, it would be the least they could do to help the war effort.

Judge Ruggero Aldisert, in his dissent, pummels the majority -

I would hold that Congress’ use of the spending power and fulfillment of the requirements to maintain the military under Articles I and II do not unreasonably burden speech and, therefore, do not offend the First Amendment. I apply the balance-of-interests test and decide that the interest of protecting the national security of the United States outweighs the indirect and attenuated interest in the law schools’ speech, expressive association and academic freedom rights.

Seems reasonable to me. The continued, willful, mealy-mouthed, legal contortions these guys go through to get to their social-engineered outcomes is breathtaking. The suckerfish of the values voter were hyperlegal judges on a secular crusade.

doctorzhibloggo Hits the Big Time...

I'm relatively new to the blogging scene; just a dilettante marveling at the cosmic potential of free ideas and free markets transforming mankind. Now, I know Google can do this for most, if not all sites, but the ability of someone to translate even my meagre fare is a remarkable technology that has the potential to liberate people from oppressive governments. From Iraq, the Ukraine, Darfur, or the Ivory Coast and beyond, the world becomes aware of their struggles.

So, when I see something like this, it's cool (now, why would Google tag me w/the top page in a post titled, "Suicidal Christian Watch"?

I then clicked on their beta translator and got this. Really cool.

Happy Thanksgiving!...

I give thanks for -

a wonderful country that has given me more than I could ever want
a sweet, silly, smart son that is my pride and joy
a president that has cojones the size of Ft. Lauderdale
a miltary and the men and women who serve heroically
a people that are kind, generous, and compassionate; also, a little bit wacky
And...
an undefeated USC football team

Read this, this, this, this, and this. We truly are a blessed people.

Seeing Red in a Blue State...

A principal at a Cupertino, CA school has ordered a teacher to stop using the Declaration of Independence in his curriculum. Via Drudge, you can read the complaint here.

It is chicken!@#$ like this from moral relativists that cost them the election of their precious John Kerry. We ARE a Christian nation and we will continue to be one until the sun sets on our society. The deist nature of our Republic has allowed us to triumph over adversity and to become the gretaest society in the history of mankind.

By the way, you can contact the principal here.

UPDATE - Power Line has  more.

George W. Bush, Visionary?...

Via Instapundit , an article in The Washington Dispatch on the Bush administration's space policy and hardball politics from House Whip Tom Delay. I've many problems with Delay, but his understanding of the need to explore the solar system is not one of them. Of course, it's all about getting money into his district, which relies heavily on the aerospace industry.

Some will say, especially on the Luddite Left, that this amounts to a welfare program for Phd's, but I'm all for handing out money to nerds who dream, instead of people who just sit around on their collective butts and don't produce anything.

That being said, I think the president understands that it is in our interest to explore space and reap the benefits of exploration. He, also, understands the need to bring the Muslim world into the 21st century, so we can focus on the future and all the wonders not yet known.

It's Not About Racism...

The LA County Board of Supervisors  is about  to close another trauma center and the race baiters are up in arms -

At a public hearing last week, county supervisors heard impassioned pleas to save the trauma center from the Rev. Jesse Jackson and Yolanda King, the slain civil rights leader's oldest daughter.

"Health care is linked to the ethos of the civil rights movement," Yolanda King told the board, asking it for a compromise to keep the trauma unit open at the hospital named for her father.

Geraldine R. Washington, president of the Los Angeles NAACP, told the board that closing the trauma unit "is definitely a slap in the face of the community." One speaker in the standing-room-only crowd urged the board to not "lynch" the hospital.

The reason the county has been closing trauma centers left and right is because of the rampant illegal immigration plaguing LA. According to Heather MacDonald, crime in South LA is no longer in the grips of black gangs, but of illegal immigrants and their offspring.

The black "leadership" must begin to realize that it is in their interest to oppose illegal immigration and its destruction of the black underclass. Again, the Republican party can make inroads into this demographic by being forcefully for reform of immigration policy.

Ron Artest of the Indians Pacers apologizes for his thuggery and has these words to say -

"I'm trying to be positive. I'm a big fan of the Nobel Peace Prize."
