Science fiction great Arthur C. Clarke has issued a statement regarding the massive tsunami that struck his home in Sri Lanka. I think he may be more concerned about finding new houseboys.
UPDATE - Welcome Michelle Malkin readers. The post title refers to a 1993 Clarke novel of the same name (though about an asteroid strike on the Earth).
That Guardian story was kind of sad. Sounds like Mr. Clarke suffers from the same psychological afflictions as Michael Jackson--an obession with your own celebrity.
That Mike Oldfield music dedicated to his novel Songs of Distant Earth mentioned at the end of the article is actually one of the musician's best works. I totally recommend it!
The author might be a nut and pedophile, but at least he will leave behind some inspired masterpieces.
