After a few years in development, Steven Spielberg will be directing a film about Abraham Lincoln based on a book by Doris Kearns Goodwin and starring Liam Neeson. This should be great revisionist history. With a new book out that theorizes that Lincoln was gay , an actor that has just portrayed sexologist Alfred Kinsey, and a biographer that commits plagerism this movie should be a laugh riot.
Unfortunately, with a movie going public that swallows (no pun intended) fiction for truth and rewards it accordingly, I have no faith in the merits of this project. Just read what Spielberg has to say -
Spielberg is said to identify with Lincoln, who, like the director, was tormented by stress and medical problems.
